If you are the primary decision maker or owner, you may nominate yourself or get another peer or Leadership Jackson alumnus to nominate you for the program. If you are not the primary decision maker, we strongly suggest that you get your immediate supervisor to nominate you for the program due to the time commitment and cost involved to participate. (Check into the policy for your particular company/organization for approval to make sure you follow protocol.) Discuss your interest in applying for Leadership Jackson, how it can benefit your employer and then have your supervisor complete your Nomination Form when the nomination process begins, June 3.

Objectives of LJ

Identify and select individuals with sincere interest in the community and the potential of leadership. Systematically educate and challenge the participants as to the needs of the community as well as the dynamics of social and economic changes. Develop an esprit de corps among the participants which will provide a common ground for working together on present or future community projects. Create a dialogue and rapport between the participants and existing community leadership. Identify organizational and individual opportunities for community involvement and assist participants in placement into these positions upon completion of the program.
