Nominate or Apply for Leadership Jackson
Each Spring, the Leadership Jackson Alumni Associations Board of Directors begin the selection process for Jackson, Tennessee’s Leadership Jackson Leadership Development program. The process includes a nomination and application period followed by applicant interviews. Nominations can be submitted by employers who have recognized an employee within their business or organization who could benefit from participation in the program or by the employer/primary decision maker as a self-nomination.

Employers submitting nominations must be the primary decision maker, business owner, or direct supervisor of the nominee due to the time and cost commitments involved to participate in the program. When communicating an interest in getting nominated for the Leadership Jackson program with a supervisor or primary decision maker, it is important to discuss the valued ways in which it will be of benefit to the organization as well as the development of the employee. As a best practice, interested candidates should review approval policies and procedures of their company/organization prior to nomination to ensure proper compliance. Due to the high volume of applicants only one application will be accepted per company. All applicants must be employed with a Greater Jackson Chamber member, who is in good standing. To be eligible for an interview, all nominations and applications must be completed on or by the deadline indicated.
What happens after I am nominated?
After submitting an online application, a peer group of Leadership Jackson alumni will interview all applicants from mid-July through mid-August. Those selected for the upcoming year’s class will be notified immediately after interviews and selections are completed.
When do you meet and what are the topics discussed?
Leadership Jackson meets weekly on Wednesdays beginning in September through mid-December. A two-day opening retreat is mandatory to participate in the program. Please check the Program Schedule included on this site.
How do I nominate someone or apply?
Review the nomination process, fill out our nomination form and send it in. Only one application will be accepted per company due to the large number of applicants. Applicants must be employed with a member of the Greater Jackson Chamber. Forms can be completed online beginning June 1st.
